Misc
Titles are used when someone uses the ‘who’ command in one of
its forms, or using ‘refer laotzu’. They will appear after your name
followed by the name of your god. For example: LaoTzu The Taoist the
Prelate
of Hat
Also
available are pre-titles which go in front of your name. Besides the generic
titles, available to players, every guild has its own special set of titles. As
you advance in the guild, your religious instructor will provide you with
special titles. These instances include amongst others: “Brother”,
“Reverend”, "Blessed", "Venerable", and "Holy".
Ministers and High Priests also find that their positions are available as pre
titles.
Your title will also be followed by other information, including a title of your
choosing, a quest name and any other positions you may hold, e.g.
You are Minister LaoTzu The Taoist the Prelate of Hat,
Enlightened, the leader of the-Way, Secretary to the High Priest of Hat, Coffee
Bean.

Guild level determination
Your guild level is determined by taking the average (rounded to the closest integer) of your 14 primary skills. Only the real, useful skills at the end of the tree, like fa.ri.de.se or fa.po, NOT fa.ri.of. In other words, you'll gain a GL every 14 levels in a skill. It is a common misunderstanding that your level in Faith is related to your GL. Let me explain the difference: your level in Faith is determined by your levels in fa.ri.de, fa.ri.mi, fa.ri.of and fa.po. Hence, fa.po has much more impact on your Faith level than any other subskill. This causes the difference between your GL and your Faith level.
Prayer
Beads
Prayer beads are available for $50 in your local temple shop. These beads are
uncharged and can safely be consecrated to your god if none are available in
your temple. Note that consecrating beads to another god once charged to any
extent will remove any charge that has previously been instilled into the item,
they can however be reconsecrated to the same god (to remove a remembered place,
for example). The beads are charged when they are involved in any invocation or
prayer - that is, every faith guild point spent while holding the beads is
transferred through the beads and adds to its total charge. The beads can be
used by anyone that worships the God that they have been consecrated to, whether
they are charged by themselves or another.
The effects of charged beads are:
The
beads give off varying degrees of holy auras (which can only be observed by
those of the faith) that give an indication as to the amount of guild points
that have been instilled within them. The second part of the description is
merely a coarser indicator of the same information, with two of the differing
levels of auras to each. The beads do not lose charge when they are vaulted or
placed in some container.
"It
is surrounded by a strong
holy aura instilled by the numerous
invocations it has been involved in.
Starting from as soon as the first guild points are instilled up to fully
charged at 5 million guild points, the progression of auras is as follows;
These
holy auras are not evenly spaced in terms of guild points needed to obtain each
successive aura, being more exponential in nature. The diagram below gives some
idea as to the scale involved (The listed auras being at the start of their
respective ranges).

As a rough guide, at 4 guild point per heartbeat regen the process of charging
to 'radiant' takes roughly 21 hours, depending on lag, if all guild points are
instilled into the beads. At the more normal 3 guild point regen this figure is
closer to 28 hours.
Priests
receive 3 guild commands, 2 of which are unique to the guild, consecrate and the
burial commands. The other command, pray, is available to all worshipers.
|
Pray |
This
will channel all your guild points to your deity, reminding Him of your
existence and, if you are out of alignment, moving you back into His
favor with a satisfactory alignment for
your god. How effective your prayer will be in this is determined by
your skill in faith.rituals.special. The following pray messages have been gathered by Milly, Emiko and Jeanie:

Burial
commands |
This
will bury a corpse to the greater glory of your God. Like pray, this
will move you into better standing with Him, and if you are out of
alignment, it will bring you back towards your desired alignment. It
costs 50gp (100 for some of the commands) to perform for each corpse,
and how effective it is in changing alignment is determined by your
faith.rituals.special. It is more effective in moving your alignment
than pray (especially because you can perform multiple buries for the gp
of one pray). The different gods get various commands, with other
description, but basically they are all the same. You can not use this
commands whilst in combat, and you need to be at least guild level 25 to learn
this command |
| Bestow | This command allows you to put a ritual onto a faith rod. For more info, visit the faith rods page. Bestow is learned by "worship"ing your god at your high altar with a guild level of 75 or higher. |
| Scour | This command allows you to remove a ritual from a faith rod. For more info, visit the faith rods page. Scour is learned by "worship"ing your god at your high altar with a guild level of 75 or higher. |
|
Consecrate |
This consecrates an item to your deity, so it can be used for things such as remember place and divine guard/sentinel. This has to be done at the High altar of your deity or at the small altar at the entrance of the TOSG (read the room description carefully, it’s not very visible), and you will also need to be within alignment. It takes 50gps to consecrate an item, and you need to have at least 150 bonus in faith.rituals.special to attempt this. The command itself is learned at guild level 50. |
To
be able to use your abilities given to you by your god, you need to remain
within your given alignment. The 3 main ways to remain in alignment are pray,
the burial commands, and by keeping careful note of what NPCs you kill.
The alignment of the NPC you may be killing can be found in a number of ways.
Firstly, the rituals 'see alignment' and 'detect alignment' will tell you the
alignment of all in the room, or a single NPC respectively. Also, the red-hilted
daggers available in the Sandelfon temple shop will tell alignment (if they are
significantly different from neutral) in the form of a colored flame when used
to attack a target. If you are trying to keep an evil alignment, good things to
kill are priests of good alignment, like Althea. To try and keep a good
alignment, the best place to kill things is the Gloomy forest. Killing atheists
in the TOSG is good for every alignment. Please do NOT kill shopkeeper priests,
this is most inconvenient and even illegal.
Pray and the burial commands effect your alignment directly. How good they are
at moving you alignment is dependent on what skill you have in the
faith.rituals.special skill, and can be very efficient at changing the alignment
with a good bonus.
Pray seems to be more effective when you are far out of alignment than when you
are close, while the burial commands seem to be fairly effective no matter what
your alignment is.
Note that the light ritual can give some indication of alignment for those who
do not have the detect alignment ritual. When performed upon the target, they
give off a certain light which can give a rough indication of what range they
belong to.
Cyan
- More good aligned.
Green - Only slightly good to neutral.
Yellow - Neutral to slightly evil.
Red
- More evil aligned.
Nowadays
performing experience can make a nice
supplement to experience received from killing, and give newbie priests a nice
amount of xp to invest into fighting.
The xp given appears to be 10 times the gp cost, and there does not seem to be any cap on
the highest amount possible.
To try and prevent experience farming by performing the same ritual in a short
period of time. It will reduce the experience gained from each perform. Use as
much rituals as possible to get an optimal xp return (and a better chance of
tm'ing!)
Praying also returns 10 times the gps used, but it doesn't seem to return less
xp when used in sequence.
