The foundation of the breed 'Moeraert-Standaert'
is based on 4 basic strains:
·
Jozef
Van de Voorde from 'Desteldonk' who has the pure 'Legiest' and 'Lavent-Claes'
pigeons.
·
Jozef
Neyt from Gent who has the best of the 'Marieën-Roybergh' and the 'Houben'
strain available.
·
Marc
Burms from 'Lokeren' who has the pure 'Edmond De Kerpel' from 'Buggenhout'
pigeons (descendants from the 'Mitterand' and the 'Parel') who had
on his turn the pure 'Cattrysse' strain.
·
Roger
Meyvaert pigeons have been acquired to ensure the future for the
very long distance races. Descendants of the very best from Roger,
e.g. from the 'Narbonne', populates the lofts at Lochristi.
The
outcross breeding of the above strains resulted in a breeding loft
that is producing excellent all-round pigeons. Both, in the breeding
loft as in the racing team, with only first price winners, a clear
line can be recognised where brothers, half brothers and ditto
sisters together with cousins, nephews and niece are ready for the
service.
The
foundation of Moeraert-Standaert is mainly based on the descendants
of 'DE STIER'.
"DE
STIER' himself won 7x 1st prize at the loft of 'Jozef Van De
Voorde' and won several early prizes.
"DE
STIER' gave with several females' excellent descendants.
"DE
STIER' mates now with his granddaughter and produced several
champions like the 2nd Provincial Medium Long Distance.
The children of 'DE STIER' and his granddaughter are
not only
excellent racing pigeons but appear to be superior breeders.
4
brothers of this couple populate know the breeding loft and will
ensure the future of the strain.
All
descendants of 'DE STIER' coupled with pigeons of 'Marc Burms' and 'Jozef
Neyt' are of excellent quality for both racing and breeding. These
pigeons can fly early prizes and even fly ahead on distances from
300 to 600 Km. |
