DirectoryPrint: What is it?

DirectoryPrint is Windows7 ready (vista ready, xp ready)

If you ever wanted an application that could:

  • Save time (‘Time is Money’), then you have come to the right place.
  • Give you control, with DirectoryPrint you get control.

Use DirectoryPrint for listing the contents of one or more folders with the fields and their position you want, which you can order. The listing can be send to the printer, to a file, to the clipboard, it can be sorted in many ways. The fields which you want to include can be sorted in the way you want. The files and folders can also be sorted and filtered in the way you like it. With the filter you can include or exclude particular file(s). You can also include extra information like: number of files, total size, full path, hidden files ... The fields you can chose from: filename, type, size, attributes, modified date, accessed date, created date. The file owner can also be included.

DirectoryPrint provides section for settings options. An overview of the options in the sections:

Basic Section:
This section allow you to set the basic options like:
  • include the fields you want:
    • Filename
    • Size
    • Type
    • Created
    • Modified
    • Last Accessed
    • Attributes
    • File Owner
  • set order of the chosen fields
  • use filtering (including or excluding particular files)
  • recurse folders, which you can also limit to a level

Directory Section:
This section allow you to include or exclude extra information like:
  • filenames
  • folders
  • number of files in a directory, with the size
  • empty directories
  • full paths
  • total number of files, with the size
  • hidden and system files
  • directory header information
  • delimiter between columns (ex: Microsoft Excel delimiter for seperating data in to columns)
  • include or exclude the drive letter
  • formatting of the "size" field (making it more readable)
  • formatting choice: with . or ,

Size Section:
This section allows you to use columns or not
  • No Columns: no extra spaces used to align columns
  • Columns: determine column size based upon
    • the current directory
    • all directories

Sort Section:
This section allow you to do sorting on:
  • filename in ascending order
  • filename in descending order
  • size in ascending order
  • size in descending order
  • type in ascending order
  • type in descending order
  • creaton time in ascending order
  • creation time in descending order
  • modified time in ascending order
  • modified time in descending order
  • accessed time in ascending order
  • accessed time in descending order
  • file owner in ascending order
  • file owner in descending order

General Section:
This section shows general information:
  • program setting will be saved.
  • start DirectoryPrint from Windows Explorer in the current directory
  • remember last window size and position
  • remember last folder
  • help: context sensitive
  • help: via index and find
