Question:I only need to list a few, specific files in any directory. How can I achieve this?
Answer:You can limit the list of files by entering any filter or filename to search for matching files. You can also use wildcards like * and ?. To list multiple file types, separate filters with a semicolon, like this: *.mp3;*.avi;*.jpg.

Question:Can I add/remove fields (filename, size, type, creation date, attributes) from the output?
Answer:Yes, you can do this. Go the 'Basic options'-tab and make sure that the fields you want to output are in the 'chosen' list.

Question:Can I order the fields (filename, size, type, creation date, attributes) from the output?
Answer:Yes, you can do this. Go the 'Basic options'-tab and go the 'chosen' list. You can order this list to meet your needs, using the buttons under the 'chosen' list.

Question:Can I order the files/folders from the output?
Answer:Yes, you can do this. Go the 'Sort options'-tab. You can do sorting based on filename, size, type and creation date. You can also choose if you want them sorted in ascending or descending order.

Question:Can I include/exclude information like: current directory, number of files, total size ... ?
Answer:Yes, you can do this. Options like: current directory, number of files, total size ... can be included/excluded by selecting/unselecting them in the 'Directory options'-tab.

Question:I want to see header(s) even when folders are empty, how can I do this?
Answer:In the 'Directory options'-tab there’s a field 'include Header(s) even when folders are empty', by selecting it, the Header(s) you selected will be included even when folders are empty.

Question:I want to list also the hidden and system files, how can I do that?
Answer:In the 'Directory options'-tab there’s a field 'include hidden and system files', by selecting it hidden and system files will be included.

Question:I do not want to display the drive letter in the listings, how can I do that?
Answer:In the 'Directory options'-tab there’s a field 'include drive letter', by selecting the drive letter can be included or excluded.

Question:I want to use formatting for the numbers, how can I do that?
Answer:In the 'Directory options'-tab there’s a field 'Numbers are formatted with', by selecting the format, you can change the output. Also take a look at the 'Format the "Size" field, to enable formatting for this field.

Question:How can I make a list containing only the path and filename?
Answer:Select the following options:
  • Make sure only filename is selected in the 'chosen' list in the 'Basic options'-tab
  • Select the following options in the 'Directory options'-tab:
    • include files
    • include full path
This will produce a list like this:
  • drive:\folder\subfolder\filename1
  • drive:\folder\subfolder\filename2
