Info:The Instructions

Background:
There are a few techniques on how to build longboard decks...I haven't tried them all though...everyone of them has got it's own specific needs and materials...Have a look at and see which one will suit your needs...

Basic Technique:
This is the most basic one...Two 6mm Birch plywood panels are glued on-top of each other in a curved way...clamping is done with a bunch of self-threading screws at the outer side of the outline of the deck...curve is created during the glue-ing process by putting some weight on the panels while screwing the lot together...cheap and effective...
Basic Technique: another example
This info was also on the old site...Once I made a deck with a aluminum underside...looked flashy, did the trick, but didn't last that long...wrong type of aluminum :-)
Advanced...simple press technique:
This technique involves building a press that is built up out of a certain amount of clamps that have concave or not...It takes more time to get results but it can all be used over and over again afterwards...2 panel technique is still used...and it can take fiberglass/epoxy also...although vacuum bagging is preferable...
Another example...a Speedboard:
Here's a view on how I made a speedboard...it's a nice concept that is to be found on Chris Chaput's website...It's also one of my favorite type of decks...high speed or city use...both are within range... This page is still under construction
For Fun: a Buttboard
Always thought about building one...now I just did just that...
It's not completely ready but sure it looks like something to have loads of fun with!!!
About using fiberglass:
I use fiberglass since a while...this is to regulate strength and flex of the deck...and it's quite high-tech and expensive...not for beginners in my opinion...
About birch plywood:
Here's some info about the birch plywood I use...it solves some comon questions I sometimes receive
Griptape:
Many of you out there asked me stuff about how to cut "grafix" into griptape (grafix...just a way I like spelling it...;-) Here's some info about how I cut the stuff into something I like...heavy job though(!!!) and "bloody" dangerous too!!! :-P
Graphics:
Some visual info on graphics...not a "how to" but something that can inspire you to have a go at it...

Vacuum bag technique:
I never tried it...but others like Dough Kumph and a dude named Grega (from Slovenia) checked it out...Here's Grega's view on what to do...this also works (is favorable for) fiberglass and epoxy
Foam molds:
Here's an issue on foam molds...they are easy and cheap to make...ideal for experimenting with different tail setups...
Vacuum bagging:
This page is still under construction...but you can have a look :-)
Together with Grega from Slovenia,I made this info page on vacuum bagging
Because I didn't use the technique yet,the page is not fully ready...I'm bussy putting a vacuum pump system together with my dad...he's doing all the research for the moment...and enjoys it to the max!...Go dad!
