Another deck: Speedboard

Continued:
Smoothing up the deck edges is finished and now I go for some graphics...
First I printed out the word "Toothless" and got some masking tape that will be needed to get the letters onto the deck...you will see further on what I mean...
Masking tape was laid on-top of the print and the letters cut with a sharp knife...I improvised some backlit table to do just that...
Next I drew a line on the deck and stuck the cut out letters onto it...I had to do this by hand because I don't have transfer tape...this tape is normally used to keep cut out letters in position...all worked fine and our small cat "Godzilla" made sure everything was well pressed onto the deck
Then I thought...why not add some flame design to the deck...the type of HotRod style stuff...looks fab and is not too difficult to do...This will also keep the overall graphic design simple and less work...
It also keeps the deck payable ;-)
I drew up some flames like the ones I saw on the net before...if you look at a still image of fire, you would see something like this shape...
When all was stuck into place...I taped the edges and sprayed a gradual red to yellow transfer onto the deck with my airbrush...The next thing will be the word "Longboards" and some sanding and varnish to be applied...
Get rid of all masking tape and you end up with something like this...It looks even better live!
I'm glad with the result so far, but maybe I might trace a thin black line around the word "Toothless" to let it stand out more...The flamework is cool too :-)...Took me about 16 hours to build this one..
This is how the end result looks like...the black line traced around the big letters did the trick...Another nice deck built

Enjoy,
