so much information's about the African art world!

Ibibio EkonDear $email,

Will you join us in Antwerp to celebrate African Art with a drink and see our last acquisitions? Among them I have an old Chiwara, a few Madagascan statues, a Lega statue, a Dan mask, etc... A few Antwerp African art dealers are also welcoming you in town and you can also visit the Ethnographical Museum.

Antwerp is a city and region with worlds of diversity: from trendy South to working-class Borgerhout, from busy urban centre to nearly virginal outlying areas in the province. Antwerp likes to consider itself a metropolis and has exerted a tremendous magnetism for centuries. The encounter between people and cultures in Antwerp has yielded the city and the province a significant heritage.

Recent acquisitions on view on Friday and Saturday 13 - 14 October 2006 from 12:00 to 18:00 and by appointment in my shop.

Click on the Chiwara to see a little preview ...or go to:

Fine little museum with some famous African art pieces like the Hemba published in the "Musée Imaginaire" de Malraux.

Antwerp’s port connects the city with the entire world. Thousands of fascinating objects have washed ashore in the metropolis from all continents. The Ethnographic Museum offers an insight into the environment and mentality of non-European nations. The museum has an excellent international reputation due to its unique collection and the many temporary exhibitions it organizes.

The museums of Antwerp and their collections are extensive and varied.
But in 2006 they are all looking at the wide world around them, at fascinating items in their collection. Objects and themes that link Antwerp with the world: fashion designers and jewels, music and photography, Morocco and Egypt, Dutch masters, English nobility, ...
