The Minderbroedersstraat leads at its eastern end into Mutsaertstraat where, since 1662, the Koninklijke Acadamie voor Schone Kunsten Antwerpen (Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp) has occupied the buildings of a former Minorite monastery. Archways and other architectural pieces can be seen in the grounds.

It is famous for it's fashion institute, but the other sections have also a very good reputation.

Ousmane Ndiaye also known as Dago Royal Academy photography Nidaye Ousmane Dago , was born in 1951 in Ndiobène, Senegal. He now lives and works in Dakar. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, he held several one man shows and has taken part in a number of international exhibitions, including the Venice Biennial in 2001, The Valencia Biennial in 2001, The Dakar Biennial in 2002, and the Havana Biennial in 2003. Woman is the central theme of his work; women wreathed in veils of clay transfigured into sculpture by the photographers lens. The series is called Femme Terre (Woman-Earth)
