Banda Throwing knife
The handle is of leather stitched over small wooden sticks. This old piece is definitely from the 19th century and will a nice addition to any African weapon collection. It is coming from a known Dutch African weapon collector. This Banda knife is in good condition and shows clearly the skills of the African Black smiths. Famous for their ironwork, the black smiths of the Banda specialized in producing small, three-prolonged throwing knifes witch where used as "missiles" of war. This variety shows two heart-shaped protrusions, which makes it a distinct type.
