The Hofstra Museum is an educational institution committed to the collection, study, interpretation, conservation and exhibition of objects with aesthetic and cultural value.
The Hofstra Museum is the custodian of the Museum's permanent collection of paintings, sculptures, works on paper, decorative arts, and ethnographic objects of African, Asian and pre-Columbian origin.
Since 1985 the Hofstra Museum has been accredited by the American Association of Museums and received reaccreditation in 1997.
Due to space constraints, the majority of the Museum's permanent collection is in storage. Arrangements can be made for a class to view specific pieces of the collection. If you are interested, please contact Eleanor Rait, Curator of Collections at (516) 463-5673.
