May Newsletter:Tough decisions, Small little treasures.

My dear reader,

In May you will be able to visit Museums, and to spend your money you
can go to Sotheby's in New York, Zemanek in Germany, or Serge Reynes in
France.

But in June our agenda will be full of auctions and Fairs, and you will
have to take many planes and train tickets to go from Paris to Brussels,
and London to visit fairs and auctions.

Google

You will have to take tough decisions, choosing to keep your money and
be at the Bruneaf openings to get the best pieces from the best dealers
in the place or will your money already be spend at the auctions in
Paris ?

Some of the auctions taking place at the same moment, it won't be easy
to decide what to go for?

Will you go at auctions, or will you prefer the opening in Brussels,
presented by the dealers, and meet the other collectors ?

OTHER:

Go on, sense the African spirit, have the African ethnic look: http://users.telenet.be/african-shop/african_spirit.htm

Masks frighten people. After all, many are created to scare away evil spirits or invoke power. A collection of masks old and new on display at the Steynberg Gallery demonstrate the rich history of mask making from around the world in an exhibition that both educates and elicits wonder. Many of the masks are positively spellbinding.

The Bruneaf 2005 in Brussels http://www.bruneaf.com/  between 8 and 12 June. It opens this year on Wednesday, and not on Tuesday as the previous years, due to the fact that they open together with the Baaf http://www.baaf.be/

As you know I was not selected as a Bruneaf member, but due to the high demand of my readers the next Fair you will be able to see me is in Brussels between 8 and 12 June at : Gallery J. Geerts in the Rue Lebeau 27.
It is in the street going down from the Sablon.

I will present you "Small Little Treasures" http://users.telenet.be/african-shop/brussels-non-european-art-fair.htm
an exhibition related to miniature masks, statues, heddle pulley and other small little treasures produced in Africa.

These miniatures can be really refined.

All showed objects will be guaranteed 50 years old or more and created in a tribal context. You will see miniatures in wood, metal, terracotta, from the following african tribes: Central Africa (Tschokwe, Luba, Bena Lulua, Bacongo, Songye, ...)
