Statue Gets Angry And Walks Out Of Church
Paris Events September 07
Dear African Art Lover,
What would happen if the statues in my shop could speak and tell me what they think? Would the statue get angry and walk out of my shop? This was what I thought when If found this sentence on the Internet, “Statue Gets Angry And Walks Out Of Church”. I thought this was just so funny and wanted to share it with you.
If my statues could speak, I guess they would tell me they need some more space, that they love to get my attention, that they hate that I buy so many statues, and that they are missing Africa and the people who made them.
They would also tell me that they want to see more visitors in my shop in Antwerp and that people should get in love with them. They need some fresh air and want new adventures.
I just opened my shop doors, it is so hot today, let's hope my statues won't walk
out, and yell at people or that I will have to call the police to stop them !
Some of the mask I recently acquired need a new stand. Others needs to get more light. Some statues I bought fall all the time and
also need a stand. Presentation is very important and needs attention before the start of my
show
in Paris in September.
In June, I told you that I found a nice new place and would show my pieces in the rue Visconti 5. But my plans have changed, since that gallery was sold to Yann Ferrandin - a Parisian dealer.
So I needed to find a new place. That wasn't easy, but I was lucky and can now invite you to visit me in September in Paris from 11 to 16 September:

Galerie de Buci (coin rue de Buci - rue de Seine)
73 rue de Seine F 75006 Paris
I hope you will all come and visit me there. And if you have no time, please visit my virtual Shop
www.buyafricanantiques.com
I will be showing very interesting and fine pieces at the 73 rue de Seine, Paris, this fall. Among them the Fang mask you can see below, and some fine Hemba and Luba pieces, and more pieces selected for quality and/or provenance.
If you go to Paris, Sotheby's will start the September dance by showing the
Marc Ginzberg collection of non figurative Art. It will be sold at auction on 10 September 2007, just before the start of Parcours des
Mondes. No statues where allowed in this auction. Hearing this Statue Gets Angry And Walks Out Of

Also the Musée du Quai Branly still has two interesting exhibitions till September 16th: The "
art of Berber woman " with Algerian pottery, and -
"Wounded
Artefacts - Repair Work in Africa"

Sometimes I receive emails with images that are so big that the sender probably waited one hour to get it through his email. To solve this, I recommend that you download Picassa from Google, it contains a function to send images by email and automatically downsizes the big files, they also have a bunch of other free programs included for free. Give it a try;

This summer near Brest in Bretagne there is an
interesting exhibition tresors
