April 2004 : an exhibition called "100 years of Archaeology in Middelkerke" features the remains of the Spitfire found in nearby Leffinge.

June 2003 : relatives of Michael Newling, whose Hurricane was recovered in Pamel in 1997, contacted us and visited the BAHA Collection Erembodegem. The pilot's escape route was reconstructed, with the help of Gerard Kestens, who as a young boy guided Michael Newling under heavy German fire towards the Dender river. The English pilot was picked up at the other side and made it back to England to fight in the Battle of Britain. He went missing in 1941. This was a very emotional day for both Michael's family as our members, as his nephew was able to climb into the cockpit wreckage from which his uncle was able to bale out back in May 1940.

May 2003 : inauguration of a plaque in memory of a B-24 Liberator crew, lost in December 1944 in Denderwindeke. The plaque is to be found at the church wall, as well as on both places where crew members died.

May 2003 : a memorial plaque for the crew of a Halifax and a Stirling is unveiled at the cemetery of Haasrode. This project was financed by local organisations and unveiled by the sole survivor of both crews.

September 2002 : BAHAAT now has a permanent display in the Royal Military Museum in Brussels. Since then, it attracted thousands of visitors.

September 2002 : what is left of a unique replica of a B-24 Liberator, especially commisioned for the film Resistance (featuring Bill Paxton) has been acquired by BAHAAT.

July 2001 : Two veterans of the B-17 Sunrise Serenade take part in the recovery of their Flying Fortress. Belgian tv-makers are filming everything to make a documentary out of this unique experience.

July 2001 : Thunderbolt-pilot Bill Grosvenor assists at the recovery of his plane. The American team Rendez Vous Films is making a documentary in which this dig will be an important chapter.

June 2001 : BAHA Collection Erembodegem finds a new home. Since then, the exhibition received many visitors.

May 2000 : a monument for Lancaster DX-P is inaugurated at Sint-Maria-Lierde. The remains of this bomber were recovered a few months earlier by BAHAAT. Seven counterweights of the 4lb incendaries are used in the memorial - one for each crew member.

November 1998 : The remains of a missing Focke Wulf pilot were found. Ogefr. Heinrich Zenker now rests at Lommel cemetery.

September 1997 : During the recovery of Halifax LW682, the remains of three Canadians were found and handed over to the authorities. They were buried with full military honours at Geraardsbergen cemetery - they are now no longer missing. A huge amount of parts recovered from the swamp are now in Canada to be used for the restoration of the Halifax in Trenton. A monument for the fallen crew is inaugurated at the Astridlaan in Geraardsbergen. This was also the start of the BAHA Collection Erembodegem and Geraardsbergen - two permanent exhibitions to be visited by fellow enthousiasts and veterans.
