Formed early part of 1978. They  backed Carl Perkins and Bo Diddley on their tour in the UK. During taht tour they got some attention of a big record company called Magnet. In 1979 the first hits followed  ROCKABILLY REBEL, BUZZ BUZZ A DIDDLE IT, MIDNITE DYNAMOS, WHEN YOU ASK A BOUT LOVE, OVER THE RAINBOW, BABES IN THE WOOD, LOVES MADE A FOOL OF YOU.

Matchbox toured extensively in the UK,Europe, Australia and USA and making numerous TV appearances.

After a split-up formed Graham Fenton his own Matchbox and did many tours in Europe, recordings , TV work. In 1995 they decided a reunion gig. The place was packed, a very emotional night for the band. It went so well that they like to carry on. They played festivals all over Europe, Finland, Switzerland, Germany and Belgium.


MATCHBOX play a mixture of R'n'R,Rockabilly, New Country and Rock'n'Blues and not be forgotten Graham's tribute to Gene Vincent.
