Fish accepts LxJovem invitation for a webcast of Aula Magna's concert on November 11th.

Portal Lisboa Jovem – www.lxjovem.pt – Lisbon City Hall’s official youth internet media have contacted FISH, former head vocals of Marillion, proposing the live webcast of the Lisbon concert which will take place in November 11th.
Why? Because we want to share with young people all over the world a chance to enjoy, for the last time, the live presentation of the Misplaced Childhood album.
Fish answered shortly afterwards with great enthusiasm and advanced immediate availability to participate in this initiative which, according to his own words: “it's a great idea. It’s sadly been a long time since I had the opportunity to play in Portugal and this broadcast will enable me to remind fans what I have been doing since my last visit as well as perform the album “Misplaced Childhood” in it’s entirety, an album which was very close the hearts of my Portuguese fans”.
The “great idea” is now being prepared with Fish, setting all necessary details to carry out the greatest on-line broadcast ever produced by Lisboa Jovem.
This concert will be a unique moment and the last opportunity for Fish and Marillion fans to thrill with the songs from the Misplaced Childhood album, one of the major successes of the 80's, now live from the Aula Magna to the entire world through this on-line broadcast from Portal Lisboa Jovem and SAPO.
“I am very excited at this event and we are all looking forward to providing an unique experience on the night of the concert. I really hope that this will be a huge success and reintroduce people to my music as well as provide an opportunity to prepare the ground for more extensive touring in Portugal next year with my new solo album and the 20th anniversary of “Clutching at Straws”. The fact that this is a worldwide live broadcast is particularly exciting and I am sure fans in many countries will revel in the chance to hear and see a great show from my most successful tour in years!”
Like in all other previous Lisboa Jovem broadcasts, Fish’s concert will be broadcast in audio/video and in accessible scalable technology so that all users, regardless of different types of connections, can watch this event with the corresponding quality to their internet connection speed.
Through another original broadcast, Portal Lisboa Jovem, in association with major Portuguese internet portal SAPO, intends to provide an exclusive moment to all who will not be able to attend this spectacular event, but still want to share this singular experience which will be the performance of one of the most prestigious international artists of our time.
The webcast will be in Microsoft Windows Media format

UPDATE
If you go to http://www.lxjovem.pt/?id_categoria=34&id_item=243790&id_tema=47 and click
on the "Preparados para a transmissao?" link (about halfway down) it will
open a file in the same format that the webcast will be in, so that you can
test whether you can receive it.
(thank you Mo for this update)

As always Fish had to prove a point. This time it was that those who were not there missed out big time.
Fish told me before the show this wasn't about revenge for the '97 (cancellation) and '99 (loss of voice) visits to the AB, but about just being there after all this time and still been able to shake the foundations and give us a state of mind that makes a difference.
Yesterday in Brussels it was brilliant from the first note of Faith healer till the last note of Fugazi.
Two and and a half hour of pure emotions. From anger to pure bliss, Fish kept us on the roller coaster.
There was no getting out during the ride.
The Fish solo set being the voice of my conscience and Fish doing MC was the voice of my heart.
And it felt like he was doing (not performing) it all just for me.
Sometimes there are concerts that can't be captured in a word or a sentence to describe the feeling that comes over you when all is over.
Emptiness is close. Drained. Ripped open and left bleeding. Sometimes there are to many emotions captured in a small timeframe.
The feeling that you have to talk about it, trying to find support and recognition that this feeling is true, that you not dreamt it all.
Not that a dream can ever be so powerful...
A timeframe of a live set is to small to capture all the memories that involve the emotions shacked by Fish lyrics.
A public warning is in place: do not enter if you have a heart condition.

even eBay has it listed... on preorder
Fish mailed on this subject today:
Hi All,
Just to let you know that we are now pre ordering the 'Return to Childhood' album at £9.99 plus
vat.
This works out at around £11.75 for Uk and
Europe. I have tried to keep this as cheap as we
can but as expected the supermarkets will
undercut me as they are not dependent on selling
just one or a few products and can afford far smaller margins.
I sincerely appreciate your support for our web
site and merchandise operation and as such I am
trying to keep the price of this double CD as low
as some of the other on-line operations that have
far greater turnover than us here at the studio.
By buying from us here you are directly
supporting the artist and not a corporation or
huge company. I will do my best to acknowledge
that support, to provide a quality service at
prices we can both afford and to recognise your faith in our operation.
Thanks for being out there!
all the best
Fish

Today the 2006 MC tour took its final stage:
Adjustments have been done below, and on the TCBNews2006 page.
The Tour diary now has it's 2006 page with the beautiful graphic of the new Mark Wilkinson Tour poster (free download) to make it sparkle.
John Tonks will be unable to fill the drummer's seat for this tour due to prior commitments. His replacement is Dave Innes.
Mo -Rainbow - Warden has started a Q&A page on the Company site for all the questions about the Hadders 2006 convention. So if you are thinking about going and you have a worried mind, pose your question on fishfans and Fish will provide the answer.
But first read Fish new mails about the subject

A new mail from Fish has been enlisted.
The Misplaced gig list has taken another extension and is updated in the TCB 2006 News page listed below... that page has attracted 150 visitors a day so far. I sure hope some will come and visit us in the flesh. (no Roger Waters pun intended)
For the romantic souls who like to glace at the pictures of yesteryears: Mr Steve Rothery has found the time to put a web site together with extractions from his celluloid hobby: www.postcardsfromtheroad.co.uk
Mr Jon Collins, author of the book Separated Out mailed that his book on the history of Marillion will be reprinted in the near future. He would like to grab this opportunity to fix a few errors in the text and get some facts straight. If
anyone knows of anything that's not already listed in the errata,
here - http://www.separatedout.com/Errata.html - then please can they
add it to the comments
That reminds me that I intended to make a page on the books written about Marillion... (Work in Progress) |

Construction on the house is getting into closure, so time for an update: Not much going on in Haddington
(besides football - Hibbies going to win it all is the credo these days)
Tickets for the charity show 20/04(in aid of the
HibernianFC Youth Development) are available from the F.I.S.H. shop by check only so far (20 £)
It's at the Hibs
Supporters Club at Sunnyside (just off Easter
Road) in Edinburgh. The venue has a capacity of 300 punters only
The convention is a pain in the ass to put together (but Fish will write about it in a new mail shortly) Be aware of the penguins out there!
Not a sign about the work spend on the book planned this period, but he's just back from Egypt - and he has stories & pictures to prove it...
Fish addicts can find a new place to dwell: Fish now has an official page on MySpace at www.myspace.com/fishofficial
There's streaming music, downloads, photos and other stuff...
No more gossip - it is official: Fish new girlfriend (since December) is Heather
Findlay . Heather is lead singer with "Mostly Autumn" |
20/02/06
Have you missed me? It is "house under construction" over here...
But there is some news so a quick update for you.
Fish wrote a new mail with some interesting news about his future plans, new releases and the upcoming convention.
Most exciting is that comedian Will Smith (not that Will Smith) will be performing his Misplaced Childhood comedy show at the convention

Fish is planning another Haddington convention! The idea is to aim for the "traditional" August Bank Holiday weekend (Thursday 24th or Friday 25th to Sunday 27th), with an acoustic gig in St Mary's church and a full show the following night at another venue in Haddington. |
