"E" COMPANY AT TROIS PONTS

Date : Dec 21, 1944
Location : Wanne Heights near Trois Ponts, Belgian Ardennes
Weather : Dawn, Fog
Ground Condition : Damp
Turns : 50
Map Size : 1.440 x 1.440 m
Playability : Initially designed as a scenario for players on the defensive against the AI, I guess it might be a balanced battle if you give Allied forces a 25 % bonus (or more depending on your skills) when playing as Germans against the AI or in a PBEM TCP/IP game.
An exit zone is provided for Axis troops on the western edge, however none of the German units are eligible for exit points.
The bridges over the Ambleve river are destroyed, you cannot cross the river at this location

Situation :

On December 21, 1944, "E" Company of the 505 held a bridgehead at Trois-Ponts, on the east bank of the Salm River. A fierce attack, lead by Elements of the 1st SS Panzer Regiment hit "E" Company at dawn. Greatly outnumbered and outgunned, "E" company fought skillfully and held their ground until overwhelming numbers of Germans forced them to withdrawal across the Salm, losing many men in the crossing. Further German assaults to cross the Salm failed dooming any chances of a German linkup with SS Colonel Peiper’s Kampfgruppe trapped in La Gleize.
