Annemie Kooyman grew up in the world of theatre. Her mother and grandfather were famous hairdressers and make-up artists. Thus the world of imagination was always nearby. Annemie worked seven years as a hairdresser and make-up artist for two theatre companies in Ghent. She always had this need to create real people, to express their feelings and emotions. Annemie Kooyman studies sculpture at the Academy of Arts in Ghent. Her sculptures strongly refer to the theatre and truly are reflections from life.
