Artists for Mother Earth is an organisation started the 7 february 2007, to unite artists, musicians, press, media-people, VIP's, filmmakers, actors, players (theatre), stage-managers, organisators from events/festivals,artmanifacturers, PA's (public assistants), etc ... in a Positive way, for Our Planet and mankind.

In this way we take our responsability in the ecological revolution, by adding in our gifts/talents in our own, big ánd small ways. And beside talking about it in our own performances at our home-environment we let people hear our voice also by uniting at www.myspace.com/artiestenvoormoederaarde (= myspace.com/artistsformotherearth).

In this way we let know also that it is concerning the Earth, our whole Planet.

Artists for Mother Earth is acting against threats to The Planet and Mankind, as there are

our pollution and intoxication of our living place, the Earth & ourselves

the growing militarization

the increasing gap between poor and rich

the increasing scarcity of natural resources

the rise of nuclear energy and weapons

All this in a pluralistic way and without making the difference in f.i. musicstyle or artistic subgroup,... contraditionnary, we act in a positive engagement, because we all live on the same Earth at first place. (only not welcome when violating human rights)

This action is taken to give a strong signal and we ask to the responsible people in our own countries to put taking care of our Planet on top op their agendas, and we ask them to also do something effectively. How small their efforts might be, it helps. Maybe they can unite also... For this occasion, the Dutch action song "Moeder, wanneer komt hier de zee?" has been written, due to the inspiration. This song is a website-opener, so that this action is accessible for many people. It is also written to make clear that Mother Nature acts, whatever we think or suppose about it... And in the same time, everybody can input a little bit from his own energy in positive projects all over the world. This song is hoping to be one amongst many others to be sent in. Because we have an urgent message !

an explicite group of our society that is uniting

artists, out of their local activity and force, anywhere in the world,

exporting the same worldwide message through their music and arts,

reaching others,

giving significant and attainable ideas, carrying out examples

big ánd small, starting with ourselves.

Good to know:

Sometimes we are contacted spontaniously by artists who let us know that they are always willing to play a benefit-performance where needed. Thanks for that ! The names of those artists are assembled by Artists for Mother Earth, by which we are developping a databank. When organizers contact us, we share that information with them. Organizers do have to contact the artists or his/her management afterwards. Artists for Mother Earth is not a booking-office or publicity manager.

Besides, it is not the starting-point of Artists for Mother Earth to ask artists to performe benefit-performances, because artists already are engaged people who sing oftenly about peace, taking care of nature, human rights,... by their lyrics of their songs. Besides they speak openly in public concerning this subjects. In this way they already make the world a little more colourfull. This by taking theirselves seriously and by doing their job as good as they can. So we find it normal to respect artists and to take care of them. In this vision, a gage (payment) for what they do and their social engagement(s) is a normal thing, like any other working person in our society.
