All the homebrew stuff is made for the contest station ON4WY. Here are some pictures of the contest station. We are working only on the subregional region I VHF-contests.

Fig. 1: 2x2x17 element; the first steps Experiments with only 17 elements on 2 rotating masts are not succesfull. There was interference and too sharp...

Fig. 2: 3x2x17 el + 2x9 el : Trying all directions. The antenna park is very impressive but not good. Adding an antenna group is adding more problems...

Fig. 3: 3 x 2 x Doppelacht - the ultimate gun ! The gain of a 17 element Tonna omnidirectional. It looks like an oversized GSM-mast but it's doing the job perfect. The feeder is a 7/8 shellflex and after the splitter ½ shellflex is used. The coax is soldered directly to the antenna. This picture is taken in wintertime. Normally the birds are also very happy with this setup...

Fig. 5: The shack in Gilbert's garage. We are trying to use only surplus stuff or second hand. Nothing is new, most of it is home made. The most expensive is the tranceiver (Icom 970H second-hand). All equipment used in a contest is doomed to explode, melt or even worse. So don't try the hypermodern tranceiver of 6000 Euro, it's too dangerous four your hart !
