People
I like
i
like sincere, respectful, alert, inspired, cultured, caring and 'real'
persons, with a fine taste and an own personality, with something
creative, sense of poetry, sense of beauty, sense of humour (!), sense
of nuance, with an open mind, and a spark of passionate character,
craziness and sensitivity
i like sparkling eyes cos it makes people look so much cuter
(but maybe i could like other people too...)
Things
I like
peace,
friendship, love, humour, discoveries, truth, art, youth, dancing,
good causes, no worries about money, the freedom of internet possibilities
(imagine they didn't exist), and anything that inspires me...
Living
in Belgium/Flanders, I'm not really a rich man, but surely rich in
the world...
I consider myself born lucky : many chances.
Immaterial wealth is more important anyway.

quotes
"Too
many people have a condom around their hearts..." (Unknown)
"What
is a cynic?
A man who knows the price of everything
and the value of nothing." (Oscar Wilde)
"It
is absurd to divide people into good and bad.
People are either charming or tedious." (Oscar Wilde)
"I
am certain of nothing
but the holiness of the heart's affections,
and the truth of imagination." (John Keats)
"A

world
music, jazz, chanson, crossover,
pop,
rock & indie, classical music, polyphonic, funky music, folk,
crooners, bossa, blues, gipsy and balkan music, boleros, electronic
crossover, film soundtracks, easy listening, latin,
tango,
mediterranean crossover, some R'n'B, some soul, some
hip-hop & rap, singer-songwriters, some dance, "out of
any category" music, ...
I
like especially vocal interpretations (which is more than "singing").
(names? no way... that would lead me to a never ending
list)
I like powerful voices and unusual creative use of instruments
(for
instance accordeon, guitars,
human
voice, bagpipes,
saxophones, percussion, organs, piano, etc.)
Countries
that mean something special to me because of their wonderful music
they gave me (besides the obvious countries) :
Armenia, Brasil, Cuba, Portugal, Eire, Italia, Bulgaria, France,
Spain, Belgium
I
like the (melancholic) sound of the duduk, accordeon, cello, violin,
clarinet and the purity of the piano, ...
I like music to give me intense sensations, to touch me deeply,
to make me smile or weep, to make me contemplate, to make me crazy...
(in the good way), to make my body move, to surprise me, to spice
up life, and music that can make my life's rythm change... (as well
in the slowing down, as in the stable or unstable way)...
dutch
/Nederlands = my mother tongue (as for 60% of the Belgian
people), i like it cos it is my "home": the language
in which i learned so much and in which i think and write poetry,
(and won some orthography contests...)
french /français = second official language of
Belgium; in theory my second language since school, i can communicate
in it and understand it quite well, but i wish i could speak
it much more fluently :-(
(i do like it for writing short poetry sometimes)
english = the language i use the most, next to my mother
tongue, so quite well (i think...)
german /Deutsch = not great, but quite similar to my
own language, so i understand a lot and i can communicate in
it a bit (süsse Grüsse, liebe Freunde)
spanish /español = i know some words and expressions,
i like the clarity of it and there are such wonderful songs
of life in spanish, plus spanish is everywhere! (and quite some
spanish speaking friends i have, hola a todos)
italian /italiano
= i like its musicality, i had a very little introduction course
when i was 17 for visiting that incredible country and it is
a basis of some words and expressions, but i learn more quickly
and in september 2004 i finally started following evening courses
(for myself, and also because someone important to me is italian)
(non dimenticherò mai che uno spazzolone e uno spazzolino
non sono la stessa cosa!) ;-)
portuguese /português = i pick up many words by music:
song titles, lyrics and movie titles, (this goes for many languages),
i'm fascinated by the claim of the portuguese that it would
be impossible to translate "saudade"
i adore a lot of music in the portuguese language (portugal,
brasil, cabo verde,
angola),
and i love the sound of it and the mysteriousness about it
latin = i don't "speak" it of course, but
having had these classes in school means a lot as a basis to
understand quite a lot of other languages
esperanto = still don't know it, but i was always interested
in it and i support the Flemish Esperanto League, i love the
idea of easy communication for everyone by a universal
language
oh and by the way... i like music in completely not understandable
languages ;-) (like Mari Boine in
Sami or Huun Huur Tu in Tuvan, or Arto Tuncboyaciyan in Armenian
or invented language...) (oops, now i gave names anyway...)

I'm a member and donator of Amnesty International, for human rights
are important to me

A friend called me "sweet and simple, but far from ordinary" (dunno
if i fully agree with the `simple`, understanding myself can be
pretty complicated sometimes...) (although i can be happy for very
simple things). Another friend called me "intense", but
i'm sure not everyone thinks that i'm great! ;-)

i was born a (damn) perfectionist, and, despite some talents i have,
i also have a lot of (frustrating) limitations and kind of "weak"
character features, trust me... Fortunately it doesn't hinder me
too much to have friends and to be loved. Thank God i'm not perfect!
Being me is not always easy, but not too much boring either, so
i'm quite happy with being me. Anyway, i believe in the value of
diversity!... Bla bla bla ;-)
Longing: i know what it is, it is my prime muse for writing poems
now and then.
Anyway, besides surely having some melancholy inside me, I like
smiling and joking and in general I am certainly an optimist.

in case you were wondering, and if it means anything (to you) :
it appears that i am a Leo (star sign), ascendant Leo, or a Rat
