New Address Announcements - One of the biggest problems you may have when you move is finding a way to notify everyone that you have a new address. You can make up new address announcements, but these are something that will only do half of the job for you. The great thing about announcing a new address is that people often take notice of this, and will make the necessary changes to their records or their address book. Even though I would like to say I’m one of these people, unless you pound into my head I may still be mailing things to your old address.
Your new address announcements not only are appropriate when you are moving to a new home, they are also a great idea if you have changed your e-mail address. Many people find that they have to change e-mail address simply because of the amount of spam that is going into their inbox. If you send out new address announcements to those who e-mail you, it is quite easy for them to save your new address and delete the old one upon receiving your message. On the other hand, if you just start sending out e-mails with your new address and don’t say anything, people are going to the very confused when they are e-mails began to bounce back because they do not realize you have a new address.
If you are running a business, it is even more important to send out new address announcements. You will lose a lot of business and cause a lot of confusion if you do not let anyone know what is going on. This not only applies to your clients but your employees as well. Remember that if you have people working for you, you should send them new address announcements the moment you change or address. If your employees cannot reach you when there is a problem, things can snowball from there. You should notify them as soon as or even before you notify everyone else.
You new address announcements do not have to be fancy. Some families like to send out to announcements to friends and family to let them know that they have moved into a new home. This is fine for your family, but if you are running a business you want to keep it short and formal. You don’t want to be cute about it, you just want to give out the new information and let them know when the new address. Let them know when it will take effect and how long the old one may still be up and running. You should always give the new address announcements a few weeks before you plan to completely shut off your old address. That gives people plenty of time. Remember that not everyone checks there are e-mail every day.
