WHISKIES GALORE!!!
 Welcome to the Café Highlander, Antwerp’s only
Scottish pub, which lies in the heart of the city near to Antwerp's main
University UFSIA. The building dates back to the 17th Century and was originally
3 separate houses. Before it was a pub, or Café as they are known in Belgium,
one of the houses was a bakery and in the cellar you can still see the old
bakers's oven and mixer that dates back to the early 1900's.
The
landlord, George Thompson who hails from Whitburn, Scotland and the Landlady
Elaine Mosely from Huddersfield, England have been running this cozy little Pub
for over 21 years. When the Pub opened its doors in 1988 the Antwerp and
District Pipe Band, led by George's good friend Pipe Major Andrew Tierney,
played causing large crowds to gather…….the Highlander was officially open.
Over the years the Highlander has had significant coverage on national T.V.,
Radio and in the press.The Pub is also mentioned in several guide books
including Tim Web’s Good Pub Guide to the Benelux.

45 different beers, 8 from the keg including, Strongbow Cider, Guinness,
Gordon red strong, Mc Ewan's Scotch Ale, De Koninck, Highlander Ale, Kriek &
Cristal lager and not forgetting
the great bottled Belgian Beers.
SCOTCH MALT WHISKIES
At this time we have a choice of
120
great malts.
FOOD
A wide range of snacks including - Smoked Salmon,
Hamburgers, Ploughman's Lunches, Spaghetti, etc..
RECEPTIONS
We can cater for small groups of 25-30 - just tell us
know your whishes.
