New blood joins our line-up….

We decided to no longer work with Mike who was our drummer for almost 2 years. This breaking up is with mutual understanding, we wish Mike the best in life and  with his musical projects. 

Vincent ‘ Vinny’ Debaveye (also in Eternal Breath) will be our new drummer. He’s returning to Chalice after more than 8 years.

So the end of 2011 promises to be rather busy. We will focus on being stage-ready again as soon as possible, rehearsing our current set list and writing new songs. We look confident to this all, believing  to be better than ever before.  Apart from that, we have our recently recorded 3-track promo to be distributed and are planning a new photo shoot… so check our site regularly.

As the dust settled on the battle scene in Zingem, the hangover was clear.

As Napoleon once said "Death is nothing, but to live defeated and inglorious is to die daily". However we dwell upon dissapointed and although victory is sweet, it's sweetest when you've known defeat. For this year, the Wacken chapter is closed but the book called 'Chalice' is not at an end! This summer we won't regret being at Wacken, Wacken will regret we weren't there.

Thanks to all fans who supported us that night.

Last saturday was memorable...

CHALICE won the W.O.A.-battle in Ostend!!! This victory means we are heading for the next battlefield, being the national finale on the 28th of May. Place of these unholy happenings will be the Volkskring-venue at Zingem. A  ‘Thank you so much!’  for those who were there to support and vote for us. We really enjoyed raging the stage and seeing you evil guys and mean girls go crazy.

The day after wasn’t a lazy sunday at all. We did a photoshoot with Piet Goethals. Check out his art at www.pietgoethals.com.

Mark your calendar ! Because on the 16th of April, your vote, for once in Belgium, will matter We will play that evening at the OHK for the first round of the Wacken Open Air Metal Battle ! Be sure to support us there !

End of January 2011: statement about CHALICE being a five piece again

As mentioned in one of our previous statements: an end can be a promising start of a new era.  
We are proud to announce that CHALICE and Nicolas Bruggeman (Eternal Breath, ex- Lowres, ex-Gardens of Grief, ex- Death Anos) have decided to join forces. He has years of experience in writing, recording and playing metal, both on bass and later as guitarist. He will be our (solo)guitarist from now on.  
In this line-up, we will focus on writing new songs for our upcoming full CD. However, we will also be rehearsing and playing some (very) old songs.
 You are eager to see us rage on stage !

November 2010: Statement about CHALICE breaking up with Bharat

Autumn sets in… trees lose their leaves thus preparing them for winter. They part ways after having shared both spring and summer.
This year, autumn means a break up for CHALICE too. 
We took the decision to no longer work with Bharat Van den Bremt.
He was our solo-guitarplayer for more than 2 and a half years but because of other priorities, we will split ways.  

Unlike trees, we are looking forward to the upcoming winter….determined to find a suitable replacement to continue our mission.
Again, let this ending be the start of a new era in our history

New cd
Pre-production is on a roll.
Together with our sound engineer / co-producer we are aiming to work with the perfect sound and the best working methods.
This pre-pro year will take us to the next level and prepares us for recordings in summer 2011.
Studio La Chapelle is booked and will bring Chalice to the Ardennes...
We are currently writing new material and some existing songs are being upgraded to bring you an even more furious, brutal and inspiring performance.
We all hope you will enjoy them together with us.

Drummer
August 2009, drummer Yoeri Gemeen and CHALICE part ways after sharing the band for almost 6 years.

Issues resulting in this decision concern continuous disagreements and dissatisfaction with the bands’ musical path.

CHALICE is turning a page in its history but we intend to do the same things once our line-up is complete again… rage on stage with mean music combining melody and aggression. Let this end be a promising start!
