RobboLito

RobboLito is an extremely strong UCI chess engine based on source code published in May, 2009 by Yakov Petrovich Golyadkin, Igor Igorovich Igoronov, and Roberto Pescatore

Robbolito is no longer in development.

downloads:
RobboLito 0.21Q
(optimized windows
executables and readme files)

RobboLito has been completely translated from the original Italo-Albanian to English, and it does not include any of the original tablebase code (v. 0.084).  these tablebases are generally not needed, as RobboLito demonstrates extremely strong endgame play without them.  The engine recognizes many draws and solves endgame positions that even Rybka 3 and other commercial programs miss.

RobboLito (for Windows) is part of the Ippolit family of engines,
more info can be found here: http://ippolit.wikispaces.com/

This excellent chess ship is a truly glorious achievement of the October Revolution and the Decembrists movement!

My most recent Robbolito 0.21Q test shows a dramatic improvement:

Dear computer chess fan:
In 2009, my Robbolito development efforts (with the help of Sentinel) yielded a couple releases of 'remarkable' strength which easily defeated Rybka 3:
Robbolito 0.085g3 and
Robbolito 0.09

Unfortunately, this source code has been unscrupulously 'cloned' by various individuals...stolen and used for their own benefit, with no regard to our efforts or to the strict GPL license attached.

Robert Houdart
apparently used Robbolito 0.09/0.085g3 source code as basis for his 'own' commercial chess engine Houdini...
for details,
disassembled code, PV comparisons, etc., please see:
http://www.open-chess.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1647
and/or
http://www.talkchess.com/forum/viewtopic.php?topic_view=threads&p=394508&t=38052

Johandry Gonzalez Espin (International chess master)
apparently copied our Robbolito 0.085g3 source code release, claiming it as his own original engine, and attempted to enter it into the 2010 World Computer Chess Championship...
for details,
please see 'The Espin case' here:
http://www.chessvibes.com/plaatjes/Cloning_article_February17th2011.pdf

Unfortunately, due to this rampant abuse and misuse of my (and Sentinel's) rigorous ChessLogik open-source development efforts (given freely to the CC community in good faith)...Robbolito 0.085 and Robbolito 0.09 are no longer available for download.

It appears as if the FSF's (Free Source Foundation, Boston, Ma.) GPL license means absolutely nothing to these individuals, and the FSF does little to prevent this kind of abuse...(i.e. to date, no action has been taken against Vas R. (Rybka) for
plagiarizing Fabian Letouzey's Fruit 2.1).

RobboLito UCI options
MPH (Move on Ponderhit) -> Never, Sometimes, Always ...if predicted move is played by opponent, make move
default = 'Sometimes'...if move = EASY (i.e. when it's a no brainer!)

RobboLito is not a 'clone' of Rybka 3, as some may like you think...it's very different.

please click here for a detailed comparision

note:
there have been many RobboLito versions released which are not associated with the 'ChessLogik RobboLito' development effort, and have not been tested and released by myself (kranium). many of these versions are simply leaked betas, experimental tries, or rogue individual efforts. some have being incorrectly attributed to me.

some work fine, but others may crash or have bugs and/or other issues.  for informational purposes and clarity...all (non-kranium versions) that i'm aware of are listed here:
