Cattery
Chiaro di Luna thanks its name to our first and beloved cat Chiaro di Luna. We
bought Chiaro near the end of October 2002, shortly after we had moved into
our apartment. The choice to buy a Russian Blue was not made over
one night's ice. Karen searched the web for every possible race and for each
of those characteristics. In the end, we decided unanimously, we were going
to buy the most beautiful variety we had ever seen: the Russian Blue. Russian Blue cats are usually very calm. They don't
like the big crowds and too much noise. When they are among their owners
however, they are very friendly and love-seeking. They have the tendency to
attach themselves to only one of their owners. They are however not a typical
lap-cat. M ales are usually more friendly and tender than females, and even
more so when they have been neutered. After a few months, we felt sorry for Chiaro because
he always had to stay home alone when his two 'parents' left for work. In D
ecember 2002, we started looking for a small female. By searching the
internet, we came across the website of Cattery 'Perla de las Esmeraldas',
which announced that kittens were available. The next day, we pa id Moïra and
Patrice a visit and were absolutely blown away by those four 31-days old
kittens: Tabata, Tourmaline, Topkapi and Tiffany. Eight weeks later, we were
the proud parents of Tiffany de la Perla de las Esmeraldas, a female Blue
Russe with special character: a babe with brains... Almost from the first days onwards, Chiaro and
Tiffany were best friends. Chiaro was very happy with that tiny little 'toy'
that mum and dad had bought him. From that moment on, they play, sleep and
eat together... In January 2004, Tiffany visited her first husband
Kolja in Germany. On 5 April 2004, she gave birth to 4 marvelous kittens:
Vladimir, Victor, Vasco and Vega. You can read their dairy and see their
pictures in the Litter section .
After a long deliberation, we decided to keep Vladimir di Chiaro di Luna,
bringing the total of our own Russian Blues at 3. Unfortunately, Tiffany was neutered mid July 2004,
meaning she will not be able to show us again what a wonderful mother she is.
We will therefore not have litters in the near future. Long live the Russian Blues ... |
