You have received the following email from your new
American boss:

Hi, I've
just found out that I have to go to London next week on a business trip,
so I need you to make all the arrangements for me. I want to leave early
next Tuesday morning and come back on Thursday evening. - Book me a flight. I don't care which airline it's with, just try and find the cheapest flight available or is the Eurostar a more suitable option? Compare prices. - Book me a hotel. My meetings are going to be in Kensington so try and find me a hotel there if you can. Don't pay more than 80 pounds a night. - Find a nice restaurant for Tuesday night. I want to take my clients out for dinner. Something in or near Kensington would be ideal. Please tell me something about the restaurant you book. - Book me 4 tickets for a show on Wednesday night. A West-End musical would be perfect. Let me know what the show's about. Let
me know the arrangements once you've made them. Thanks Frank |
Use the resources below (or other ones) to do the
things your boss asked for (but don't really book of course! :-). You can
work in pairs if you'd like to.
Then write your boss an email telling him
what you arranged. Download the
worksheet.
Step 1 Find a partner to do this job.
Step
2 Agree tasks to perform.
Step 3 Make good use of the resources above, if you
can't find what you're looking for, use the search engine Google
Step 4 Bring the information
together and discuss what's useful.
Step 5 Write the email to you boss, mind
spelling and grammar.
Step 6 Do the London Quiz.
You have travelled to London through the
internet now.
How much do you know about London ?
Do
the Quiz. - Do another
'picture' quiz.
Your boss was very happy with the arrangements you
made - well done!
Maybe he will give you a pay rise... :-)
