...is an analysis of the œuvre by Dan Graham. This conceptual artist’s work consist of photography, video installations, pavillions and models. One of those interesting minimal pavillions is Two Adjacent Pavillions (1978). It’s made up of two mirroring cubes, semitranparent from within their interior. The installation creates a paradoxal structure between open and closed, an ambiguity between reflection and self-reflection. 

The proposal  for this particular site is to remove a wall from the interior circulation hall of a huge appartment building. By removing the visual barrier and replacing it with one way mirroring planes, an ambiguous space is created as extention of the existing living area. A person walking by seem to be a part of the homely ambience, which makes it a horrifying experience. 
