PrestoNotes is entirely free. All features are fully functional. There are no time limitations. It contains no spyware or adware.
If you want to publish PrestoNotes on a CD-ROM or a website, you must obtain the author’s permission in advance.
PrestoNotes has been successfully tested on Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista. In the unlikely event that you discover a bug, please e-mail me and I will try to correct it.

Prestonotes supports multiple languages. To add an additional language, open one of the .ini file in the Languages folder and follow the instructions.
You can download the file Languages.zip. Extract it to PrestoNotes’s "Languages" subfolder. Exit and restart the program and the new languages will be available in the Setup panel.

The downloaded file is a installation program. After downloading, double-click it to execute the wizard wich will guide you in the install process.
Important notice :
You can upgrade to a new version by simply copying or installing the new version over the old one. All your notes and settings will be preserved.
Although it has been tested carefully, it is not impossible that an error remains. So, for safety, make a copy of your notes (files "PrestoNotes.dat" and "PrestoEvents.dat"), before installing a new version.
Do not require "Administrator" rights.
Do not install anything in the system folder.
The portable version of PrestoNotes doesn't need to be installed and can be run from a USB key, doesn't require "Administrator" rights and doesn't install anything in the system folder of Windows
You can import your notes and settings from the standard version by simply copying into the "PrestoNotes Portable" folder the files "PrestoNotes.dat", "PrestoEvents.dat" and all .ini files.

Supported languages
Incompatibility between PretoNotes and the UAC
Under Windows Vista / Seven, the UAC (user account control) denies PrestroNotes from correctly saving the notes if PrestoNotes is installed in the "Programs" folder. To solve this issue you can :
- Disable the UAC (in the control panel of Windows, icon "User accounts" or read this)
- Install PrestoNotes in another location (an other disk, a USB key, or in the folder "My documents")
How to copy or backup your notes and settings
The concerned files are : PrestoNotes.dat, PrestoEvents.dat (your notes) and all .ini files (your settings)
Warning : Under Windows Vista / Seven, your notes and setting are saved in the PrestoNotes folder (that is normal), but can also reside in C:\Users\.......\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\PrestoNotes if the UAC is enabled. The date of last modification will show you what are the good files to save.
