Talent scouting :
One of the main reasons this site was created and a process which is on-going and always expanding at DGK, is the search for new talent. This is one aspect of the music business that is highly unappreciated as well as underrated.
Most of the success stories in music, have darker, sadder stories, which most often involves an Artist or Songwriting team being taken advantage of and then tossed aside, by people with more knowledge about the inner workings of the music business. At DGK, We look for and find young artists with the right stuff to make it in the music world. We teach them all about the music business, from intellectual,performance, and neighboring rights. To performance payments, Artist royalities and what they can expect to pay for management as well as their contractual obligations to any company they are involved in.
We also teach them how to perform, do great interviews, photo sessions, video shoots and just about everything else needed to be a successful Artist in the music business. In other words, We turn Artists into business minded Artists as well as creative Artists.
What We Look For?
Singers of both genders between the ages of 15 and 26. Must have a positive attitude, look good, be able to carry a tune and have a good feel for musical rhythm. They also must be open to learn, flexible as far as musical styles and have patience enough to withstand the waiting time between making a song and seeing it released to the general public. Stage experience is a plus, but not a requirement, as We have people in the company Who can teach this. Ofcourse there are exceptions to the above rules for exceptionally talented people.
What We Do?
The first step is always the meet and greet. We do this, to find out about the Artist as an individual. During the meeting, We discuss the Artists musical tastes and their expectations as far as a possible collaberation with DGK. The second step is the Artist showing what She or He can do. We have them sing one of Our songs as well as any other song they choose to sing. You can compare this stage to Idols, with the exception being, if You sing great You definitely will be picked to do a project with DGK or one of Our affiliates....
