            SYMPTOMS                   POSSIBLE CAUSE      
Dull,dry plumage Wrong food,noproper care,stress with artificial hatching of chicks,shortage of discharge of gland secrection
Almost vertically drooping wings with young ducks Drooping wings,illness curable in early stage
 Not moulting ofrestcoat into plumage with drake                                  Illness of internal organs,metabolic disorder,symptom of old age
Picking feathers with young ducks Boredom because of limited space
Boldness of back of neck with  females Fighting with congeners,clasping by drake with his bill during mating
Dying off and dropping of phalanxes and webs with tropical ducks With frozen ponds in times of frost: keep ponds free of ice,put straw or hay next to hole in ice

             WITH THE FOLLOWING SYMPTOMS CONSULT THE VET   

Pumping breath with open bill Fungal infection of bronchial tubes,possibly salmonellose
Vomiting movements and emaciation of young ducks in approximately 3rd week Damage of stomach by echinuria worm
Lying on ground,paralysed body and stretched neck Poisoning (botulism)
Disturbance of equilibrium,unstable walking Botulism,salmonellosis,contagious liver infection
Falling over and rowing movements with legs by ducklings around 3 weeks old Contagious liver damage
Apathy with female duck,with ruffled feathers,often in penguin posture,dirty arse area Egg-binding
Coloured thin droppings,dirty arse area Gastro enteritis,caused by wrong feeding,poisoning,salmonellosis
Lameness Callosity looking like chicken eye,also with salmonellosis
