STAMPS WITH ERRORS FROM JERSEY
1941-2 The red 1d. stamps has in its corners minute letters "AAAA", the green 1/2d. stamp "AABB". This was the designers, Major N.V.L. Rybot, way of protesting against the German occupation. AAAA means : AD AVERNUM, ADOLPH ATROX (to hell with yoou, atrocious Adolf), and AABB : AD AVERNUM, BLOODY BENITO !
1943

The stamp designer E. Blampied cunningly hid the forbidden Royal Cypher in the design of this stamp, in protest against the German occupation.
