Better bodies, better spirits: physical education games

Physical Education Games - Physical Education Games are much more than mere child’s play according to leading educators.

Teachers and education researchers agree that Physical Education Games are a vital part of the school and college process. When a youngster is physically fit, his ability to concentrate in class and absorb facts is increased dramatically.

Educational institutions from the medieval schools of England to modern American Universities have always emphasised the value of Physical Education Games. Infact, it has been a common saying for centuries among the top brass of the British military that all great battles were "won on the playing fields of Eton" - the country’s most exclusive old private school, renowned for producing generals and Prime Ministers.

But while English cricket and American baseball were, in the past, considered little more than a healthy pastime that promoted a competitive team spirit, researchers now recognize that participation in Physical Education Games actually stimulates the academic learning process to produce better scholars.

And everything from a simple game of "tag" to a hard-play college football game has its part in the development of scholars. Physical Education Games can be adapted by teachers to include every student from a nursery school toddler to a well-muscled six-foot-six-inch tall quarterback.

The Internet is bursting with ideas for teachers for fun, fascinating and challenging Physical Education Games - ancient and modern - that help develop the body and mind as one learning unit. And, since the importance of physical development in education became a scientific fact, scores of valuable books on the subject have been written by experts.

New ideas as to the vital role of Physical Education Games has earned the USA’s traditional awarding of athletic college scholarships new respect in Europe where the system is officially unknown and school and college sports have always been seen as divorced from the classroom.
