Walden university: learning without a campus

Walden Univsersity - Walden University is a higher learning institution without a campus ... instead it offers high-tech distance tuition to its thousands of students.

But Walden University - based in Chicago, Illinois - is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association, the same organization that accredits other more traditional universities in the region, such as Northwestern, Purdue and Notre Dame.

The advantages of earning a degree online and without physically attending classes include maintaining your current job, saving time and money on commuting and the facility to log on for classes where and when it suits your own work and domestic schedule.

Students must be well organised and comfortable with the necessary technology. Sound advice on technology requirements can be found on the comprehensive Walden University website at www.waldenu.edu, where the cost of equipment and of the diverse courses is clearly laid out.

Walden University B.S. programs can be completed in as little as fifteen or up to thirty months. Students generally take one course per six-week term. There are two terms per quarter, which means most will complete two courses per quarter for a total of eight courses per year.

Master’s programs at Walden University can be completed in from eighteen to thirty months. Master’s programs are offered in either a semester or quarter academic calendar. Programs offered on a quarterly basis might include twelve-week courses or two contiguous six-week courses. Programs offered on a semester basis include two eight-week courses offered contiguously.

Walden University students can complete their Ph.D. in as little as three years. The average student finishes in four to six years.

And Walden University ’virtual classroom’ study work will occupy between only ten and twenty hours a week - whenever and wherever students can free time from their other commitments.
