Columbus State University - Nestled in Georgia’s Chattahoochee River Valley, 100 miles south of Atlanta, Columbus State University offers comprehensive learning opportunities to more than 7,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
Columbus State University considers itself, above all else, a teaching university. Four stellar off-campus centers bolster this mission.
Soon Columbus State University’s nationally accredited departments of art and theatre will also be moving downtown, into historically rich spaces along the Chattahoochee River. The departments will join with the music school to create a world-class performing arts campus unlike anything else in the country.
A member of the University System of Georgia, Columbus State University is approved to offer more than 50 undergraduate programs and more than thirty-five master’s or specialist programs, ranging from art to pre-med.
Columbus State University students pursue two-year, four-year and graduate and specialist degrees, as well as taking courses through the Division of Continuing and Regional Education Services.
Students in all majors have opportunities to go beyond the campus boundaries and enhance their traditional learning through internships, clinical experiences, co-operative education and field research alongside senior professors. Columbus State University provides valuable regional service along with "real world" experience for its students by working on collaborative projects with a variety of business/industry, civic, arts and governmental partners.
Additional educational opportunities are available through some special opportunities available to Columbus State University students, including an Honors Program, Servant Leadership Program and study abroad curriculum.
Columbus State University serves a wide variety of students, from the traditional recent high school graduates, to adults with one career behind them and another to be discovered with additional education. Some students are serving members of the military and others come from fifty countries around the world. As of fall 2004, close to 1,000 students will be in campus housing.
