People To People Student Ambassador Program - As a high school student, I had the occasion to become involved in the People to People Student Ambassador Program. While as a writer I rarely come out from behind the lines to discuss my personal thoughts and experiences, I felt that it was important for me to peak around the corners of my words a slight bit to share some of my personal thoughts on the People to People Student Ambassador Program.
A reader should keep in mind that I became involved in the People to People Student Ambassador Program in the late 1970s as a high school student in suburban Colorado. My People to People Student Ambassador Program destination was the United Kingdom.
Even nearly thirty years ago, a good deal was said about the world becoming smaller and people of different nations being drawn closer and closer together. The People to People Student Ambassador Program was designed to bring young people closer together -- physically by allowing students to travel to and visit other countries. It was thought that by learning more about another culture and country, a student would be better prepared to live in a global community, much like the global community that we see truly in place in the 21st century.
Indeed, my own experiences in the People to People Student Ambassador Program were so positive that I ended up moving to the United Kingdom in the mid-1980s, living in London for a year.
The People to People Student Ambassador Program continues to be a positive force in the lives of many high school aged people. The People to People Student Ambassador Program continues to expand its reach to more and more countries around the globe. Additionally, more and more students of a wide array of nationalities now participate in the People to People Student Ambassador Program.
By fostering a sense of understanding between nations, great strides can be made to ensuring a more peaceful world in which to live.
