Indeed, Florida Atlantic University has two campuses in Ft. Lauderdale.
Florida Atlantic University was founded in 1964 in Boca Raton on an 850-acre site located near the Atlantic Ocean. The campus is conveniently located half way between Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale and offers a broad range of academic programs, activities, and services.
The Boca Raton Campus provides an exciting and supportive learning environment for students. The University Center hosts student activities and meetings. In addition, its 2,400-seat auditorium enables students to enjoy performances ranging from rock groups to the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra. The campus supports two cafeterias and has an attractive array of accommodations for its residential students. The Boca Raton Campus is also the home of Florida Atlantic University Division 1 Intercollegiate Athletics program and facilities. Its recreation complex includes an aquatic center, gymnasium, tennis courts, track, and a variety of fields for club and intramural sports competition.
The Fort Lauderdale campus (comprised of the Reubin O’d Askew Tower and the new Higher Education Complex) is located in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale-a dynamic urban area that provides a laboratory for students in business, computer arts, architecture, urban and regional planning, criminal justice, social work, and public administration. The Fort Lauderdale campus is located on scenic Las Olas Boulevard.
The Treasure Coast Campus is conveniently situated in St. Lucie West, part of the rapidly developing city of Port St. Lucie. The first-rate facilities are shared with Indian River Community College in a unique 2+2 partnership. Located off I-95 and St. Lucie West Boulevard, the Treasure Coast Campus is an easy commute for area students.
The John D. MacArthur Campus is conveniently located on 135 acres off I-95 and Donald Ross Road within Jupiter’s Abacoa community. The campus presently enrolls more than 2,000 students and offers a wide range of upper division and graduate programs from 6 of FAU’s colleges, including 25 bachelor’s degrees and 8 master’s degrees. The MacArthur Campus is also home to FAU’s Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College. A thriving Lifelong Learning Society provides non-credit liberal arts courses for learners in retirement.
