Orange Coast College - If you’re looking for a great community college to attend in California, then Orange Coast College might be right for you. This is one of the biggest single-campus community colleges in the entire country, so you should be able to easily find all of the classes you need if you attend this college. Roughly 25,000 different people attend classes every semester at Orange Coast.
Unlike some community colleges, Orange Coast College is fully accredited. What this means is that the classes you take and the degrees you earn at Orange Coast are nationally recognized – anywhere you go in the country, you’ll be able to take your degree with you, and have it mean something. This also means that if you transfer to another university, you’ll be able to get all of the credits that you’re transferring in with. In some community colleges, if the classes are not considered to be good enough by university standards, it’s possible that classes may end up being worth fewer credits.
You can also enroll in the honors program that Orange Coast offers. These classes allow students to take classes that are more difficult than the regular curriculum. You also end up getting a special honors designation on your transcript, and you can sometimes get special transfer agreements with certain universities if you intend on transferring to a university from Orange Coast.
If you’re over the age of eighteen, you can apply to Orange Coast College. You also need a high school diploma or the equivalent of one in order to apply. This is mostly so that the college knows that you’ll be able to deal with the stress of having college classes. This is also so that they know that you’ll have the necessary skills to keep up with the classes that you intend to take. If you don’t have a high school diploma, however, there are a few other options. However, in every case, you’ll need to prove that you have all the necessary skills that you would have if you had finished high school.
You can also attend Orange Coast College if you’re just looking to take a few additional classes – even if you’ve already earned your college degree. Therefore, whether you’re looking for a great college to go to for the two years before you move on to a university, or you’re just looking to expand what you know, Orange Coast might be the right community college for you.
