EE10: Human Flesh: '. . ...penumbra. . ...' CD-2007 (300 copies) | 68:00 | released 04-Jul-07 EE TAPES is proud to present an exclusive new work by HUMAN FLESH, the legendary musical project of multi-instrumentalist Alain Neffe (INSANE MUSIC, Belgium) and his friends-musicians/singers. The best way of getting you introduced to “Penumbra”, is the following text on this project written by Mr. Neffe himself. “First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time to attentively listen to the previous CD of HUMAN FLESH, ‘Songs for the victims…(of a decaying country)’, released just a year ago. Your reviews so often subtle have helped (of that I have no doubt) to sell enough copies for Eriek / EE Tapes to recoup his funds and the release of this CD “Penumbra”. This time HUMAN FLESH reverts to the style of the LP "The 35th Human Attempt", a musical and poetic journey expressing the emotion, the nostalgia, the melancholy with, as a bonus, a little of anxiety and anger. As usual, the texts written in French or in English were sent to different countries, and translated in their common language and interpreted by young women (for sake of capturing the freshness, the innocence and the pure emotion) some non-professional and others well known in the world of alternative music. These tracks have
been inspired by the sound of their voices and the musicality of their
languages…. The musicians and singers who have helped play or have played are: M.A.L., Subject, Human Dance, Master/Slave Relationship, Viscera, Strani Cocktail, Darline Victor, Sleep Chamber, Algebra Suicide, The Chopstick Sisters, Anna Homler, Sugar Connection Pupettina, BeNe GeSSeRiT, Tara Cross, Ninove, Be Plouvier, Pseudo Code. These never before released tracks were recorded between 1985 and 1995 on an old reel-to-reel TEAC 8-track, have been analog-mixed on a 2-track open real tape or DAT (Digital Audio Tape) and digitally remastered by computer. Please, don’t forget to send me a message as soon as your review is published. (I do not have enough time to explore the web every day). This will ensure that you remain on my mailing list and receive any future released records. Again thank you.”
Musically yours, 7” cover printed on deluxe cardboard with insert.
