Josue Dupon studied sculpture in Roeselare and in Antwerp. He was a close friend of Jules Lagae, and , as an animalier sculptor, of Rembrandt Bugatti. He is best known for his monumental bronze sculptures at the Antwerp zoo. He designed about sixty medals.
