Revell 1/72 Fokker Dr.I

This is the 2003 new mould kit, I was surprised how tiny these WWI planes are in 1/72.
After painting the cockpit, the fuselage was mated and 2 wings attached, some filling and sanding was needed
The rest of the parts were cleaned up and everything is now ready for painting.
The third wing was left off to make painting easier.

I changed my mind and decided to add the third wing and the rudder because test fitting showed filling and sanding would be required

First stage of painting is preshading with black (update april 15, '04)

Then a few light coats of red (Revell 36) are applied, not completely covering the preshading (update april 16, '04)

Next I glosscoated the model with future/klir for the decalwork, did some painting on the rest of the parts (update mai 6, '04)

Today I did the decals, I used microset decal solution, take attention because the decals are thin and you don't have much time to position them (update mai 7, '04)

Finally finished (update mai 13, '04)
Last bits painted and assembled, and finished with a flat clear coat

I tried the rigging but I was making a mess of it so I stopped before completely ruining the kit,
this is such a small plane that I will try rigging on an other occasion in 1/48 or bigger.
