How to make stretched sprue ?
1. With your cutter you cut away some 2 inches of plastic sprue (= leftover from the plastic parts tree)
2. hold the middle of the plastic over a candle flame, so that it heats up (but not burns)
3. ... and the plastic starts to melt (to the point were both ends get loose from eachother)
4. Now you remove the plastic from the heat and THEN you pull both ends away from each other.
(if you pull when still over the flame it will burn through and it will not work)
5. The further you pull the thinner the sprue gets, you can make very fine flexible plastic wire with it (for rigging),
or firm thin plastic strips (for antennaes). You can make it up to 1 meter/yard long !
You might need to practice a bit 'till you get the wanted thickness, but most important is to remove the plastic from the heat before you start pulling the ends.
