Newsletter of 23 September 2002 European Womens Dermatologic Society dear friends, The EuWDS reunion in Munich at te EADV Congress 2001 was a success due to the contribution of Professor Stefania Jablonska who gave an overview of Marie Curie's life and Doctor Rigoni who presented the Italian women's club. We had about 80 attendants and everyone was very entousiastic. Professor Ulrike Blume Peytavi our secretary presented the “Prof; Stefania Jablonska Research Fellowship” offered by the Humbolt University of Berlin. There was a meeting of the board to conclude and to discuss our achievements and future projects. PARIS World Congress 2002. The EuWDS participated actively at the WDS retreat in Paris on June 30, with several European participants and contributions from ea. U. Blume-Peytavi (Germany) and Ellen Mooney (Iceland); Unfortunately J. Hercogova who was scheduled to represent Eastern Europe could not attend the meeting. It was a very interesting and very interactive meeting with women dermatologists from all over the world. PRAGUE EADV Congress 2002. The EuWDS was invited by Prof. Jana Hercogova , president of the Prague EADV congres to organise a Workshop (W3) on "Dermatological problems in Women" on Saturday octobre 5th 11.00-13.00, in the Forum Hall.(see programme) We plan a reunion of the EuWDS with informal lunch on octobre 5th from 13.00 to 14.30 in the same location as the workshop. Dr. Bernard Ackerman was invited by Prof. Jablonska but postponed his participation to next years meeting. Dr. Ellen M%ooney (Iceland) agreed to speak about “Women in Dermatology, Progressing beyond the 20th Century”. We will give a poster price of 250 EURO for a poster of our choice at the EADV. BARCELONA EADV Congress 2003 We already have contacts with the organisers who promised to support us. WEBSITE. You can also contribute and send us interesting information to publish on the website. We plan to open a "History Corner". Short articles on a woman in your country who played an important role in society, politics, science in general, medicine and preferentially dermatology are welcome. |
