The hang of finding "the best of koi in Japan" is to intend to find "koi with the same kind of quality as a Grand Champion koi in the past," and also "koi with the same kind of pattern." Koi of this month, in spite of the age of two, reminds us of "Monroe," the Grand Champion of Mr.Takeshi Hayasi at the ZNA 28th All Japn Nishikigoi Show and the 28th All Japan combined Nishikigoi Show. Especially the imposing impression by the thick Hi, quality and pattern and the distinguished presence bear a close resemblance. I found this big potential piece of Kohaku at Ikenaga fish Farm, Kyushu in January of 1998.
