Jockey Jeremy Rose - One of the most acclaimed jockeys at work today is jockey Jeremy Rose. Indeed, according to media reports, when it comes to jockeys in the business in this day and age, jockey Jeremy Rose is the one to watch.
In point of fact, jockey Jeremy Rose rode Afleet Alex to victory on the 130th Preakness Stakes in the United States in 2005. Racing experts agree that jockey Jeremy Rose did a tremendous job or taking Afleet Alex across the finish line in the first position. During the race, jockey Jeremy Rose actually nearly fell of the horse. But, he was able to regroup and carry on to victory in one of the major races held each year in the United States, one of the Triple Crown events.
In winning the Preakness, jockey Jeremy Rose survived a “nearly calamitous collision. During the course of the race, jockey Jeremy Rose and horse were bumped by the front runner at the time -- the horse expected by many to win the race itself, Scrappy T. The horse on which jockey Jeremy Rose was on, Afleet Alex, actually dropped to his knees as a result of the collision.
The agile horse actually bounced back up instantly and was (in a phrase) off to the races. Amazingly, jockey Jeremy Rose and his horse ended up beating out Scrappy T and winning the race. Afleet Alex and jockey Jeremy Rose ended up finishing 4 ¾ lengths in front of Scrappy T, the odds on favorite.
"he picked himself right up, and after that I knew he had it won," Rose said. "he’s an amazing horse. I’ve never seen a horse stumble like that and then win a race like this."
One can expect to see much more of jockey Jeremy Rose in the future.
