Breath Support

  1. First you should learn to breathe properly.
  2. Feel your breath pushing, trying to get out before you release your tongue from blocking the air-stream. Feel like there is an air column from your lower stomach through your throat. Start the air flow just BEFORE you free your tongue. Any note, in staccato or slur, should be supported by the air pressure formed.
  3. Using breath support is the only way to get a stable tone to fill a complete room.
  4. Using breath support is the only way to get a melodic structure projected to your audience.
