Until recently, the only known work by Franciscus van den Enden was the Neo-Latin play Philedonius (1657), written to be performed by the pupils of Van den Enden's Latin school. Near the end of the previous century, Klever and Bedjai independently from each other were able to ascribe two anonymous political pamphlets to Franciscus van den Enden, the Kort Verhael van Nieuw-Nederland (1662) and the Vrye Politijke Stellingen (1665). Now two additional, much earlier, Neo-Latin poems can be added to this small oeuvre. The first one, on the destruction of Tienen by French and Dutch troops, was published in 1637 and the second one, on the capture of Kallo by a Spanish army, was published in 1642. Apart from this, only three letters by Van den Enden are known, as well as a few short inscriptions and dedications, and the - more interesting - political manuscripts related to the Rohan plot of 1674.
