35 minutes is quite long for a demo-CD but Belgian deathsters Grinning Ghoul obviously decided to release such a lenghty demo-CD. Unfortunately the demo suffers from a demo-like sound wich makes it harder to judge their quality . And quality they have. Grinning Ghoul is playing a typical dark, underground type of death metal in the US vein, so don't expect any "mainstream" death metal here . Their music contains enough variety and great riffs to gain attention the full 35 minutes . I only hope that vocalist Sven can put a tiny bit more variety in his voice because he's singing in one pitch all the time and i think a bit more variety will benefit to the overall sound a lot . In my view Grinning Ghoul is ready to record an album with this material but I hope they only will do that when they've found a proper studio and producer. Otherwise I'm afraid that only a few diehards will pick up this album and would be a pity. The demo-CD came with another demo-CD with remixes and although the sound quality was better I'm afraid that still isn't enough  7,5
