Al Azif review by Joost Vlasschaert at BMU.
The tape was released a few years back (1996), but it is still quite worthy of your attention . We saw this band perform a while ago, and they have improved enormously since then They bring a technical, not really mainstream kind of Death Metal. Try MORBID ANGEL or NILE for comparison, although the band doesnt quite reach NILEs crushing brutality. Maybe this has to do with the slightly muddy production of the tape, as at a recent FRONTLINE gig Grinning Ghoul had brutality to spare. The extreme grunt, the innovative guitarwork and couplets with a solid foundation, add up to a very worthwhile Death Metal package.
