Certification
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has developed specific rules for ships such as the HF. These rules rely on the International Code of Safety for High-Speed Craft (HSC code). As the HF falls under the type B category as a WIG craft, the regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) may apply also.

Ships in this category have already been built under the International Shipping Registry Classification with Lloyd's Register.
