THE OCEAN

The OCEAN was founded in early 2000 by guitarist / songwriter Robin Staps. The first band members were found by advertisements in local music magazines, plus the usual mouth-to-mouth propaganda, and some first demos were recorded with guitars, bass and drum-machines. 7 years later, the band is ready to release its 3d full-length album on Metal Blade records. THE OCEAN is actually more than a band, it’s a collective: seven band members on-stage, almost twenty of them off-stage! They surprised many on last year’s edition of Ieperfest, and now, touring with label mates BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, they are back for a second consecutive appearance on the fest!
